അന്ന് തണുത്ത കാറ്റ് വീശിയ ദിവസമായിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ആകാശത്ത് മേഘക്കുട്ടികൾ മഴയായി പെയ്യാൻ തയ്യാറെടുത്തു. പുഴക്കരയിലെ ആൽമര മുത്തശ്ശൻ മെല്ലെ തലയാട്ടി പുഴയോട് പറഞ്ഞു, 'പുഴേ, പണ്ട് നീരാവിയായി ആകാശത്തേക്കു പോയ പുഴവെള്ളം തിരിച്ചു വരാൻ പോകുന്നു' ഇതുകേട്ട കുഞ്ഞി പുല്ല് കരയിലിരുന്ന് പാടിയ പാട്ട് കേട്ടാലോ?
